iPhone Backlight Coil (6/6+/6S/6S+)

This is a replacement Backlight coil for the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus.

The coil is commonly damaged from an event causing a short on the anode line, such as spontaneous short of a capacitor.

The coil can also be damaged during the connection and disconnection of LCD Screen during repair, without prior disconnection of the battery.

Failure is often observed as a backlight that fails to reach full brightness. The coil loses inductance resulting in a lower boost voltage on the Anode line. This is often referred to as 1/3 backlight, as the backlight adjustment “slider” only makes an observable adjustment until it reaches about 30%, after which it gets no brighter.
