iPhone Charging Problems
iPhone not charging? - One of the most common types of problems with iPhones is that they no longer change up anymore. If this is affecting you we can help! We'll have this problem sorted out before you know it.
If your iPhone has suddenly stopped charging, there could be a few reasons. It may require you to simply turn the phone on and off again, or it could be something a little more complicated. Either way, if you're having any issues with your iPhone not charging, come into the store or give us a call to discuss it further.
Most common reasons for the iPhone not charging:
- Software glitch, easily corrected with a simple phone restart
- Corrosion of the power socket inside the phone. Even a small amount of humidity can attach itself to the circuitry inside the power socket of the phone. This small amount of corrosion can have devastating impacts, causing the power adaptor to fail. For more information on corrosion and water damage, take a look at our section on water damage.
- Faulty power socket hardware is another common reason for the iPhone to not charge. These could become faulty for a number of reasons, but it's a fairly straightforward repair.
- The issue may also be the charger, or cable itself, or even the computer (if attempting to charge over USB).
Before doing anything, try these simply troubleshooting steps:
- Turn the phone on and off. You can do a forced restart by holding down the home button and the lock button (on top of the phone) for around 7 seconds (you'll see the Apple logo appear).
- If this doesn't work, try changing computers (if using USB) or plug the adapter into the wall to charge from a different source.
- If you've got another Apple USB cable, try replacing the cable to see if this resolves the problem.
- If it's still not working at this point, give us a call or come and see us and we can further assess the problem and work out the best way to resolve this issue and get your iPhone to charge properly again!
